Our Story
With our partners, COVIDCheck Colorado worked to empower Coloradans to return safely to their communities and enable the most proactive and equitable response to COVID-19 in the country.
We launched in May 2020 with a goal of bringing fast, reliable, and affordable testing to K-12 districts across the state. We grew quickly and, through a partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, provided free public testing to dozens of communities across the state of Colorado and beyond.
With the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines, we administered more than 300,000 doses of the vaccine. To promote the vaccine in winter 2021, we launched a community outreach campaign to distribute information about the safety of vaccines and to schedule appointments for residents in underserved communities. Through this campaign, we booked vaccine appointments for 8,000 Coloradans of color.
COVIDCheck Colorado is an initiative of Gary Community Ventures, the legacy of Colorado philanthropists Sam and Nancy Gary, who combined the resources of a foundation and a B Corp to increase opportunity for Colorado kids and families.
